CO Anuj Chaudhary Responds to Court Order
Anuj Chaudhary, a Circle Officer (CO) posted in Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh, has once again found himself at the center of attention. Known for his proactive approach, CO Chaudhary has now taken action in response to the latest directive issued by the Allahabad High Court regarding the Jama Masjid in Sambhal. On Friday, the court instructed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to proceed with the cleaning of the mosque premises while refraining from any painting or whitewashing.
Following this ruling, CO Anuj Chaudhary addressed the media and emphasized that all court orders would be strictly implemented. Speaking to UP Tak, he reassured the public, stating, “Law and order are being maintained completely. There will be no disruption of any kind. The court’s orders will be followed exactly as directed. Additionally, discussions have been held with individuals who attended Namaz, and they have agreed to comply with the court’s decision.”
Details of the Court Hearing
During the Friday hearing, the ASI submitted a report indicating that the mosque had been painted with ceramic paint and did not require repainting at this time. Senior Advocate SFA Naqvi, representing the mosque management committee, clarified that their primary concern was ensuring proper cleaning of the premises. Taking this into consideration, the court directed the ASI to remove dust and grass from the site to maintain cleanliness.
In response to the court’s directive, Naqvi filed an affidavit affirming that no hindrance would be created during the cleaning process. Meanwhile, the state’s Advocate General assured the court that law and order would be upheld throughout the procedure.
Next Hearing Scheduled
Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal has set March 4, 2025, as the next date for the hearing. The court is expected to review compliance with its orders and address any further concerns raised by either party regarding the maintenance of the mosque.
As the situation unfolds, CO Anuj Chaudhary remains committed to ensuring smooth implementation of the court’s directives while maintaining peace in the district.
